The Pitti Filati 89 Highlights
Spazio Ricerca: TRANSFORMER expresses tomorrow's creativity
Uncertainties, adaptation, and the ability to change are the hallmarks of our times. Fashion, in general, is a mirror of this situation dangling between present and future, between the status quo and the unknown, between the classic and the avant-garde. TRANSFORMER is the title-theme for the fall/winter 2022-2023 trends, illustrated within the Spazio Ricerca, like every edition, by Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller. Transformation is highly energized. It is a concept intrinsic to life, nature, biology, mathematics, and sports.

Pitti Studios
A new feature is launching at this edition of Pitti Filati: Pitti Studios, the new 100% sustainable content production service for the fair's exhibitors. Starting with just 30 cm of thread, Pitti Immagine, in collaboration with the manufacturer of knitting machines Shima Seiki and the creative studio Kerned, can create an animated and 3D version of the finished garment, worn by an avatar as in a real fashion show. High-quality creative storytelling that communicates the collections' distinctive features, with dedicated focuses on Pitti Connect and in person, with a special installation at the Stazione Leopolda.

FEEL THE CONTEST. Who will be the winner?
This edition of Pitti Filati will dedicate a special focus to the collections of the five finalists of Feel the Contest. A jury of experts - composed of Ornella Bignami, creative director of Elementi Moda; Elisabetta Scarpini, Art Director of Feel the Yarn magazine; Chen Lung Chin, designer; Federico Rocca, fashion editor of Vanity Fair, and Antonio Cristaudo, commercial and development director of Pitti Immagine. - will select the winner, who will have the opportunity to create an SS22 capsule collection, entirely Made in Italy.

VINTAGE SELECTION
Vintage Selection – the research laboratory dedicated to vintage culture – is back and celebrates its 36th edition with two news. The event returns to the Stazione Leopolda, within the Alcatraz space, and will be reserved only for Pitti Filati operators, due to the restrictions imposed by the health emergency. The best of past fashion and design awaits you at the fair.
