At Pitti Filati, the launch of the call to train young fashion entrepreneurs
The inaugural event of CFMI Academy is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2025, marking the final day of the 96th edition of Pitti Immagine Filati.
Established in 2024 through the collaboration between Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, Pitti Immagine, and UniCredit, the CFMI Academy has evolved from a training program into a Fashion Incubator Project. This initiative aims to support new generations by fostering innovation and entrepreneurial energy. Promoted by Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana with UniCredit as Main Partner, and with Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS and Polimoda as Educational Partners, CFMI Academy 2025 is inspired by the need to initiate a research-driven project capable of propelling entrepreneurial ideas that blend responsible innovation, sustainability, and the excellence of Made in Italy fashion.
The initiative seeks to identify, train at multiple levels, and launch a new generation of creatives, designers, and entrepreneurs in the fashion sector, providing them with tangible tools to establish their own businesses.
Launched in October, the call has already received 20 projects from Italian Fashion Design Academies. The selection process will narrow these down to 5 projects, involving 15 senior students who will develop entrepreneurial ideas that are innovative, sustainable, and market-ready.
Participants will receive guidance from the faculty of their respective academies and tutors selected by project partners (CFMI, Pitti Immagine, UniCredit, Polimoda, and Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS), including experts from the fashion sector and the bank. Additionally, from January to June 2025, participants will engage in design workshops and mentoring sessions with pioneering industrial groups specializing in advanced fashion processes.
The award ceremony and official presentation of the winners will take place in October 2025 during the Fashion Graduate Italia event.
