Pamela Jacobs, Product Associate Sweaters, Rag & Bone, New York:
Pitti Filati is an important rendezvous on our calendar: it allows us to meet the people we work with, strengthen interpersonal relationships and discover new trends in advance. I really liked the presentations put forward by the knitting mills with their truly remarkable layouts and I appreciated the Feel the Yarn competition, both for the concept itself as well as the great opportunity for visibility it offered the students. Particularly topical was the new Sustain-able section dedicated to sustainability, a trend that is becoming increasingly established and is constantly growing.

Massimo Nicosia, Men’s Design Director, Zegna:
A positive atmosphere and many top international attendees: from Hong Kong to Paris, from New York to London, the designers of the most important companies in the world take part in Pitti Filati. A rendezvous at the service of designers and brands, an unbeatable starting point from which the subjects of the new collections are put together. A place to find inspirational ideas which, from knitwear, can go on to influence other production sectors, like textiles. Alongside this, there is the excellence of the proposals in Vintage Selection, the prestige of the Florentine stores and the fact that most of our fabric suppliers are in Prato.

Tae Ashida, Jun Ashida, Tokyo:
This is my first time at Pitti Filati and it is really very exciting to be here! The trends of the future are born here. It is a very technical offering where it is important to discover the properties of the yarn and its use, but immersed in a creative and stimulating atmosphere. I met members of the trade from every part of the world with a huge knowledge and an incredible cultural baggage. What make Pitti Filati unique are the interpersonal relationships, the exchange of know-how and the opportunity to initiate new collaborations. I really appreciated the new eco-friendly direction, perfectly in line with the demands of the market.

Ekaterina Astashkina, Manager, 12Storeez, Moscow:
Knitwear represents 40% of our collection: Pitti Filati is an essential rendezvous! The atmosphere is wonderful and the level of the companies is very high. At this edition I was looking for new yarn producers and there were plenty of opportunities for contacting them directly. It is important to take advantage of all three days of the event to cover all the rendezvous and have enough time to see the various proposals from the companies.

Noriaki Matsuura, Tomorrowland, Tokyo:
A really pleasant atmosphere! Many of our suppliers take part in Pitti Filati and the fair represents an excellent occasion for seeing them all at the same time, in addition to being a great opportunity for discovering the trends of the knitwear world in advance. I found this edition of Feel the Yarn really interesting! The Knitclub section has grown as well, now it also welcomes new Japanese brands and offers them an important showcase. The qualitative level of the fair is very high and the organization is perfect.

Irene Mueller, Senior Manager, Knitwear Development, Escada, Munich:
I have been taking part in Pitti Filati since 1994 and the impression is that it is growing again, becoming erven more interesting in terms of inspiration. Compared to all the other sector events the atmosphere is different and very agreeable: it is like being in a family! There is still a strong sense of creativity in the knitwear world: great technical expertise is required and the fair makes it possible to understand the yarn working processes and the potential combinations. The Sustain-able section and the Feel the Yarn competition dedicated to young talents were very interesting.

Steven Weintraub, Design Director HBC, New York:
I never miss an edition of Pitti Filati! This time I found an even more open and creative atmosphere. I was looking for new production processes, more luxury and sustainable, and my expectations were satisfied. The fair is important for its rich proposal of Italian yarns: I admire your country’s creativity, innovation and technology! Moreover the offering of eco-friendly and recycled yarns is even more developed, in line with today’s demands.

Thierry Da Costa, Women Knitwear Product Manager, Balenciaga, Paris:
I really liked the new Sustain-able space! I believe it is important to have a positive impact on sustainability and a vision that is in line with the wellbeing of the environment. I consider Pitti Filati to be an essential rendezvous for meeting all our suppliers twice a year. It is a community of members of the trade that makes occasions for meeting and exchange easier and more agreeable. Moreover it represents a unique opportunity for getting a global overview of all the new season’s trends.
